Dalcour Maclaren are recruiting an IT Operations Manager
You will develop, deliver and maintain our IT operations and lead the centre of excellence for the business. The centre of excellence is a team of system and process experts from across the business who provide first-line support for key applications. The IT Operations Manager will also identify and improve the technology landscape to ensure the business has the right tools to enable better and informed decision making.
The IT Operations Manager will ensure that the IT operational service is developed and delivered as efficiently as possible, while always upholding agreed-upon security and compliance standards. The role will establish rules and procedures to ensure that our IT estate and operation is effective and secure. The role presents a significant opportunity to develop, support the innovation within the business.
To be effective, the IT Operations Manager will:
Own the IT operational strategy and develop relationships with key business and external stakeholders to deliver an outstanding IT service within Dalcour Maclaren.
Lead the development of IT operational activity by identifying opportunities for continual improvement of the service provided to the business.
Lead, manage, deliver and optimise application support through the centre of excellence
Support and facilitate the adoption of new business solutions and services
Be pragmatic and able to tackle problems under pressure
Have both an internal and external focus and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Lead by example, actively promoting the company's values and ethos and always engendering positivity to get the best out of people.
Actively support and participate in the company initiatives, events, and socials.
Ensure compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, contractual, and organisational requirements and policies in own area of responsibility.
Be responsible for the day to day management and development of colleagues who directly report into the role.
As a member of the Future Tech team, you'll be responsible for delivering and leading insight into the business and clients. You will:
Be responsible for developing and delivering our IT operational strategy
Be the single point of contact for business and our IT managed service provider and other 3rd party suppliers for IT operational activity
Keep up to speed with the latest innovations and market trends and propose new initiatives, technologies, platforms to improve our IT and technology estate
Act as technical authority for IT changes and ensure all changes are appropriate across all virtual, physical and network configurations
Ensure all back up, disaster recovery and patch management solutions are managed appropriately with our 3rd party supplier
Be responsible for managing and providing business IT assets and hardware throughout the assets’ lifecycle
Develop relevant SLA's and KPIs in line with service excellence and ensure they are monitored and achieved.
Safeguard the business IT systems by regularly reviewing security system functionality and effectiveness
Develop and manage the centre of excellence to ensure key business applications are supported within the business
Identify areas where we can maximise value in existing systems and technology
Ensure secure access to the network for remote users, clients and 3rd parties
Respond to adhoc IT queries, which may involve hardware or software problems and ensure the business runs effectively
Manage crisis situations, which may involve hardware or software problems and ensure the business is able to run effectively
Advise on relevant technology and technological advances that best help the business achieve their innovation roadmap and business plan objectives
Ensure all IT policies and procedures are fully developed and regularly updated and communicated
Ensure security and standards, e.g. ISO9001, accreditations are maintained and achieved to maintain business with our customers
Be responsible for BAU adoption of any new technology
Understand the development of low code/no code technology (advantageous)
You will be perfect for this role if you have...
At least 3 years experience in a comparable IT Management Role
Experience of delivering IT Projects, and IT Operations Management
A Bachelors Degree in IT or Computer Science, or related Business degree
A technical background and experience in coordinating installations, upgrades and maintenance of IT Infrastructure
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and a thorough approach
Excellent communication, presentation and organisation
