What to expect

Working as part of our busy and expanding Environmental & Planning team, you will support internal and external teams liaising with clients, Local Authority planning officers and stakeholders on a wide range of utility and built development projects. You will develop a breadth of knowledge and be required to research, understand and offer advice on environmental and planning considerations and requirements in relation to a range of infrastructure, utilities and land development projects, completing a variety of tasks with guidance and supervision to acquire essential industry knowledge and skills.

What you will need

You will be a recent graduate in an environmental and/or planning related discipline, and possibly have studied and obtained an MSc in Environmental Impact Assessment, planning or accredited course. You will be looking to obtain the necessary experience to allow you to ultimately become a chartered member of your professional institution such as IEMA or RTPI.

You may have graduated recently, or you may have already have a number of years relevant experience either within a consultancy, client or local government ideally working on project delivery of utility and / or built development  projects.

Familiarity with GIS systems and an understanding of environmental technical disciplines at a  high level allowing you to coordinate and project manage their input into the delivery of  project would be desirable..

Full training will be provided so previous experience is not essential for the non-Senior role, however a positive can do’ attitude, enthusiasm and ability to learn is essential.

You will work as part of a team of specialists and we value effective collaborative working as essential. You will also have great written and verbal communication skills to support collaborative working.

You will be office based, but be expected to travel to meetings, client offices and inspect site works, therefore a full driving license is required.
